Aggie Community Service

The Fort Worth/Tarrant County A&M Club participates in three annual community service activities. We also participate in any other projects that may pop up from time to time.

Tarrant Area Food BankTarrant Area Food Bank

The Food Bank provides food to the less fortunate people that live in Tarrant County. Volunteers collect food and provide it to the food bank, stock the shelves, and box food items for distribution.

The Club supports the Food Bank by volunteering to help them with these tasks.

Habitat For HumanityHabitat for Humanity

This organization coordinates volunteers to build homes for the less fortunate. Volunteers are needed to perform all sorts of tasks: plumbing, electrical, carpentry, painting, etc. In addition, once a home is built, there are many items that can be salvaged and resold to the public at the Habitat for Humanity Resale Shop. Proceeds from the sales are invested in materials required to build new homes.

Each year, the Club signs up to partake in one of the many Habitat activities.

Sign up by April 15th!  ---- Note the date change below.

Join our Aggie team as we participate in Habitat for Humanity project on Saturday, April 12, 2008 April 26, 2008 from 7:30am-3:30pm. To volunteer, email Shelley Robinson at Shelley.Robinson@ferguson.com or call her at 817-457-9087. As more details become available (i.e. the exact construction location), Shelley will provide them to those that signed up to help.

Cowtown BrushupCowtown Brushup

This is an annual activity in October that the City Housing Department promotes. The disabled and elderly all over Tarrant County are allowed to apply to have their home repainted. The applications are then selected based on need. We will be assigned to a house to paint where all supplies are paid for by major donations such as Kelly Moore Paint Co., etc. Afterwards, the City throws a huge party down in the Ft. Worth Stockyards.

Check out the pictures from Brushup 2004.

Hanging Christmas Lights

Residents of St. Francis Village, a non-profit, independent living retirement village, need assistance in hanging holiday lights and decorations on their cottages. Here is a great chance to spend a day outdoors with your Aggie friends. You'll also be helping the elder segment - including some older old Ags! Lights, supplies, and lunch will be provided, but if you have an extra ladder you might want to bring it along.

Check out photos from the 2004 event.
